The Holy Spirit Helps Me Tell Others About Jesus

📖 “But when the Helper comes… He will testify of Me. And you also will bear witness…“
—John 15:26–27a (NKJV)

Jesus knew His disciples would soon have an important job. They had walked with Him, listened to His teaching, watched His miracles, and would soon see that He had risen from the dead. They would tell other people what they knew about Jesus.

But Jesus did not tell them they had to do this alone.

He promised to send the Helper—the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would testify about Him. The Holy Spirit would help the disciples remember and understand the truth Jesus had taught them. Then the disciples would bear witness to what they had seen and heard.

A witness is someone who tells what is true.

You may have heard that word before. Imagine someone sees something happen and later another person asks, “What did you see?” A good witness does not invent a different story. A witness tells the truth about what happened.

Christians are called to tell the truth about Jesus.

That does not mean you need to know the answer to every Bible question before you can talk about Him. You can tell someone what Scripture says: Jesus is the Son of God. He died for our sins. He rose from the dead. He calls sinners to repent and believe in Him.

You can also tell others why you trust Him.

Sometimes you may feel nervous. Maybe you worry that someone will laugh, ask a question you cannot answer, or disagree with you.

It is okay to say, “I don’t know,” when you do not know an answer. You never need to pretend. You can find the answer in God’s Word or ask a trusted Christian adult for help.

And remember Jesus’ promise about the Holy Spirit. Everyone who belongs to Christ is not left alone to follow Him. God gives the Holy Spirit to His people.

The earliest Christians began telling others about Jesus wherever they went. Some spoke to large groups, but many simply told family members, friends, neighbors, and people they met in everyday life. The good news traveled from person to person.

God can use you that way too.

You do not need to force someone to believe. You cannot change another person’s heart.

Your job is much simpler.

Tell the truth about Jesus.

Live in a way that agrees with what you say.

And trust God with what happens next.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to Your people. Help me understand Your Word and give me courage to tell others the truth about You. Keep me from being ashamed or pretending to know things I do not know. Help my words and my life agree with each other. When I have an opportunity to speak about You, help me be truthful, kind, and brave, and trust You with the results. Amen.
