🏡 Family Devotional — Day 203

Living Out God’s Word Together

đź“– “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only…”
—James 1:22a (NKJV)

God wants families not only to hear His Word, but also to live it out every day. Reading Scripture, praying together, and learning about Jesus are important, but true growth happens when a family chooses to obey God.

In daily family life, obedience can be shown through kindness, honesty, forgiveness, patience, humility, and trust in God. These everyday choices help God’s Word become active within the home.

Sometimes it may be easier to hear what is right than to actually do it. Emotions, stress, or selfishness can make obedience feel difficult. But Jesus gives families strength through the Holy Spirit to follow His ways together.

Parents can help teach obedience by living out God’s Word in their own actions and attitudes. Children learn the importance of obedience when they see Scripture practiced consistently at home.

A family that obeys God’s Word grows stronger in faith and closer together. Obedience brings peace, wisdom, and stability because the home is being built upon God’s truth instead of human feelings alone.

Knowing Christ as a family means allowing His Word to guide your daily choices and relationships. As each family member learns to obey Him faithfully, the home becomes a place where God’s truth is both heard and lived out.

Prayer:
Jesus, help our family not only to hear Your Word but also to obey it faithfully. Teach us to live out Your truth through our words, attitudes, and actions each day. Strengthen us through Your Spirit so that our home reflects obedience, love, and faithfulness to You. Amen.
