Loving One Another Like Christ
📖 “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
—John 15:12 (NKJV)
Jesus commands His followers to love one another the way He loves them. This kind of love is patient, kind, forgiving, and willing to serve others. In a family, love is shown not only through words, but through daily actions and attitudes.
Every family has moments when loving one another feels easy, and moments when it feels difficult. Misunderstandings, frustration, or tiredness can sometimes affect how people treat each other. Yet Jesus calls families to continue loving even during challenging moments.
Christ’s love is steady and sacrificial. He cared for others, forgave them, and showed compassion even when it cost Him something. Families reflect His love when they choose kindness, patience, forgiveness, and encouragement in everyday life.
Parents can model Christlike love by responding with grace, listening carefully, and serving their family with humility. Children learn how to love by watching and practicing these same attitudes at home.
Loving one another also strengthens the home. When family members feel cared for, valued, and supported, peace and unity begin to grow. Love creates an environment where trust and faith can flourish.
Knowing Christ as a family means allowing His love to shape every relationship within the home. As each person learns to love like Jesus, the home becomes a place filled with grace, peace, and joy.
Prayer:
Jesus, help our family love one another the way You love us. Teach us to be patient, kind, forgiving, and caring in our words and actions. Let Your love fill our home and guide our relationships every day. Amen.
