🌿 Women’s Devotional — Day 189

Resting in the Peace of Christ

📖 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you…”
—John 14:27a (NKJV)

Jesus spoke these words to His disciples in a moment filled with coming uncertainty. Yet rather than pointing them toward fear, He pointed them toward peace—His peace. This peace was not dependent on circumstances becoming easier, but on the unchanging reality of His presence.

As a woman carrying responsibilities, concerns, and burdens that often remain unseen, peace can sometimes feel difficult to hold onto. Worries about family, decisions, health, finances, or the future can quietly weigh on the heart. The world offers temporary comforts and distractions, but they cannot provide lasting rest.

Jesus makes a clear distinction: “not as the world gives.” The peace He offers is different because it is rooted in Him. It remains steady even when circumstances are uncertain because it is anchored in His faithfulness and sovereignty.

Through the Holy Spirit, Christ ministers this peace to your heart. He reminds you of God’s promises, steadies your thoughts when anxiety rises, and helps redirect your focus from fear to trust. His peace guards the heart not by removing every difficulty immediately, but by assuring you that He remains present through it all.

There will still be moments when emotions feel heavy or situations remain unresolved. In those times, peace is found not in having all the answers, but in resting in the One who does. His presence becomes the place where your heart finds stability.

As you continue walking with Christ, His peace begins shaping your responses. Instead of being ruled by worry, you learn to rest more fully in His care and trust more deeply in His wisdom.

Knowing Christ transforms peace from a temporary feeling into a steady confidence rooted in Him.

The peace of Christ remains because His presence never fails.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for the peace that only You can give. When worries and fears begin to weigh on my heart, remind me to rest in Your presence. Guard my mind and strengthen my trust so that I may walk in the peace that comes from knowing You are always with me. Amen.
