🏡 Family Devotional — Day 188

Encouraging One Another at Home

đź“– “Therefore encourage one another and build up one another…
—1 Thessalonians 5:11a (NASB 1995)

Encouragement is an important part of a strong and loving family. God’s Word teaches that families should build one another up through kind words, support, and care. A home filled with encouragement becomes a place where each person feels valued and strengthened.

In daily life, there are many opportunities to encourage one another. It may be offering kind words after a difficult day, helping with responsibilities, listening with patience, or reminding each other of God’s faithfulness. Small acts of encouragement can have a lasting impact. There will be times when family members feel tired, discouraged, or overwhelmed. In those moments, encouragement helps bring comfort and hope. Instead of criticism or harshness, God calls families to speak words that strengthen and bring peace. Parents can model encouragement by speaking kindly and recognizing their children’s efforts and growth. Children also learn to encourage one another by showing care, gratitude, and support. Encouragement helps create unity in the home. When family members choose to build each other up, relationships grow stronger, and the atmosphere of the home becomes more peaceful and loving.

Knowing Christ as a family means reflecting His heart in the way you speak and care for one another. As encouragement becomes part of daily life, your home becomes a place where love, hope, and faith continue to grow.

Prayer:
Jesus, help our family encourage one another every day. Teach us to speak words that build up and bring hope. Let our home be filled with kindness, support, and love as we follow You together. Amen.
