🧒 Do Not Grieve the Holy Spirit — Day 5

Don’t Make the Spirit Sad

Did you know the Holy Spirit has feelings?
He lives in you if you love Jesus—and He feels sad when you do things that hurt others or disobey God.

But He also helps you do what’s right! When you choose to be kind, honest, and forgiving, it makes the Spirit happy.

Think of Him like a best friend who’s always with you—cheering you on to follow Jesus.

Try This:
Think of one thing you did recently that may have made the Holy Spirit sad. Say sorry and ask Him to help you next time!

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, I don’t want to make You sad. Please help me choose what’s right and show love every day. Amen.

Fruit That Grows Inside

Have you ever seen a fruit tree?
It takes time for apples or oranges to grow. And guess what? God grows fruit in your heart too!

The Holy Spirit helps you be loving, kind, patient, and joyful—even when things are hard. You won’t be perfect every day, but He helps you grow!

You can ask Him to help you show “Jesus-fruit” wherever you go.

Try This:
Draw a fruit tree and write one word on each fruit (love, joy, peace…). Hang it where you’ll see it and pray: “Grow this in me!”

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, help me grow Your fruit inside. Teach me to love and be kind like Jesus. Amen.

Not superhero power—but the kind that helps you love others, tell the truth, and share Jesus with your friends.

You Are Not Too Small

The Bible says the Holy Spirit helps us be brave and kind. You don’t have to be big or perfect—just willing.

Even kids can show others what Jesus is like!

Try This:
Think of one friend you can be kind to today—and ask the Holy Spirit to help you do it with love.

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, thank You for being strong in me. Help me show Jesus to others in how I talk, play, and care. Amen.

Jesus Speaks Like a King
Have you ever heard someone speak and everyone listened quietly? That’s what happened when Jesus finished teaching. People were amazed! He didn’t just talk—He spoke like a King who knows what is right and good.

Everything Jesus said in this sermon helps us know how to live in God’s Kingdom. When we listen and obey, we show that we believe Him and love Him.

Question to Ponder:
What is one thing Jesus said that you want to obey today?

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for teaching me. Help me listen and follow You every day.

🏖️ Sand or Rock?

Have you ever tried to build a sandcastle too close to the water? What happened?

Jesus said if we hear Him but don’t follow Him, we’re like someone building on sand. But if we do what He says, we’re building on solid rock.

  • What’s the difference between knowing and doing?

He Helps You Remember Jesus

The Holy Spirit is like a teacher who lives in your heart.
Have you ever forgotten something important? The Spirit helps you remember what Jesus said—especially when you need to make a good choice or feel afraid.

When you read your Bible or listen at church, He helps you understand. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

He’s always with you—and He’s really good at helping!

Try This:
Before you read or pray, say:
“Holy Spirit, help me understand.”

Prayer:
Thank You, Holy Spirit, for teaching me about Jesus. Help me remember His words and live like Him today. Amen.

God’s Spirit Is with You
Jesus promised that when He went to heaven, He would send someone very special to be with His friends—and that includes you!

The Holy Spirit is like a Helper from God. He’s always with you to teach you, help you make good choices, and remind you how much Jesus loves you.

You can talk to Him anytime—He listens. And when you feel scared, confused, or even really happy, He’s right there with you.

Try This:
Ask the Holy Spirit today: “Please help me remember Jesus.”

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, thank You for always being with me. Help me listen to You and follow Jesus. Amen.

Jesus told a story about two builders. One was smart—he listened to Jesus and obeyed. When a storm came, his house didn’t fall!

We’re building our lives, too. When we choose to obey Jesus, we’re building on rock—not sand.

  • What does it mean to obey Jesus like the wise man?
  • Can I obey Jesus even when it’s hard?

🚫 Just Saying “Lord” Isn’t Enough

Jesus wants us to do what He says, not just say nice things. If we say we love Him, we should show it by doing what’s right.

It’s like telling your parents, “I love you”—but then not listening when they ask you to clean your room or be kind. Real love listens and obeys.

  • Can I think of one way I’ll obey Him today?

🕳 When Faith Is Fake

Jesus makes it clear: there will be people who sound spiritual but lived like He never mattered. They said the right things, maybe even posted Bible quotes—but behind the scenes, they lived their own way.

Don’t be that person.

  • Are there things I do that contradict God’s Word?
  • Do I want to be known by Jesus—or just admired by others?

🙏 Prayer:

Jesus, I don’t want a fake faith. I want the kind that changes me from the inside out. Help me to obey You when no one’s watching. Amen.
