👩‍👧 Family Devotional — Day 80

Helping Our Children Put Off the Old Life

“Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” — Galatians 5:24 (NASB 1995)

Teaching our children to follow Jesus means showing them how to lay down their old ways—and it starts with us.

We model what crucifying the flesh looks like when we say no to pride, to impatience, to selfishness. When we confess, repent, and walk by the Spirit, our children learn to do the same.

This is real discipleship—dying daily, and living by the Spirit.

Family Talk:

  • What does it mean to “crucify the flesh”?
  • What’s one thing we each want the Spirit to help us let go of?

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, help our family put off anything that doesn’t honor Jesus. Let us belong fully to Him. Amen.

Raising Fruitful Homes

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…” — Galatians 5:22–23 (NASB 1995)

We all want homes full of peace, love, and self-control—but we can’t produce those things on our own.

The fruit of the Spirit grows where He’s welcomed.

As mothers, we set the tone. Are we modeling love over irritation? Peace over pressure? Gentleness over demand? Let the Spirit work in you first—and your children will taste the fruit.

Family Talk:

  • What is one fruit we want more of in our home?
  • How can we ask the Holy Spirit to help us grow it?

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, help our family grow the kind of fruit that honors Jesus. Let our home reflect You. Amen.

👩‍👧 Family Devotional — Day 78

Teaching Our Children to Name the Battle

“Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior, idolatry, witchcraft, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these…” — Galatians 5:19–21 (NASB 1995)

We can’t help our children fight what we won’t name. The works of the flesh are real, and our kids are not immune.

But neither are they helpless.

Teach them to recognize sin not with shame, but with sober clarity and Spirit-led hope. The Holy Spirit is not just our Helper—He’s our Defender in this war.

Family Talk:

  • Which of the flesh’s “deeds” do we see around us most often?
  • How does the Spirit help us say no to those things?

Prayer:
Spirit of holiness, help our family be honest about sin and bold in pursuing what is good. Lead us in purity and love. Amen.

From Law to Life — Teaching Grace at Home

“But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.” — Galatians 5:18 (NASB 1995)

Rules have a place in parenting—but if they’re all our children see, they’ll miss the point.

We don’t raise them to be rule-followers; we raise them to be Spirit-led.

The Holy Spirit moves our children beyond fear of punishment into love for God. When they’re led by Him, they don’t just obey—they desire what is good.

Family Talk:

  • Why do you think God gave rules?
  • How does the Holy Spirit help us want what is right?

Prayer:
Father, thank You for giving us the Spirit to lead us in love, not just rules. Help our family walk closely with Him every day. Amen.

👩‍👧 Family Devotional — Day 76

Teaching Our Children to Recognize the Battle

For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, in order to keep you from doing whatever you want.” — Galatians 5:17 (NASB 1995)

As moms, we see it in ourselves and in our children—that tug between what’s right and what’s easy.

The flesh wants its own way. The Spirit calls us to a better way.

We don’t shield our children from this battle—we equip them for it. We show them how to recognize the conflict, and more importantly, how to walk in victory through the Spirit’s power.

Family Talk:

  • What does it feel like when you’re tempted to do wrong?
  • How does the Holy Spirit help us make the right choice?

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, help us all hear Your voice more clearly than the world’s. Let our home be led by You, not by the flesh. Amen.

👩‍👧 Family Devotional — Day 75

Walking With the Spirit, Step by Step

“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.”Galatians 5:16 (NASB 1995)

The Christian walk is just that—a walk. Not a sprint, not a performance. It’s daily dependence on the Holy Spirit, who helps us raise our children in grace and truth.

He leads us, and we teach our children to follow Him, not just by instruction—but by imitation. When they see us walking in the Spirit, they learn to walk with Him, too.

Family Talk:

  • What does it mean to “walk by the Spirit”?
  • How can we help each other stay close to Him?

Prayer:
Spirit of God, lead us step by step. Help our family walk in Your ways and turn away from anything that doesn’t please You. Amen.

Love That Covers Every Corner

“…nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”Romans 8:39 (NASB 1995)

As we raise children, we can’t be everywhere—but God can. His love reaches the depths of our children’s emotions and the heights of their imaginations.

When we teach them that nothing—no fear, no mistake, no place—is outside God’s reach, we give them the courage to trust Him fully.

The Spirit empowers you to model this love through calm assurance and quiet confidence in Christ.

Family Talk:

  • Can you think of a place or moment when God felt especially close?
  • Why do you think nothing can separate us from His love?

Prayer:
Father, thank You that no place or thing can remove us from Your love. Spirit, let this truth shape the atmosphere of our home. Amen.

👩‍👧 Family Devotional — Day 73

Raising Children With an Unshakable Assurance

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers…”Romans 8:38 (NASB 1995)

Life brings change. New schools. Challenges. Loss. But one thing must stay constant in our children’s hearts: God’s love never moves.

The Spirit works in us as mothers to model and teach this—through how we comfort, how we pray, how we respond in uncertainty.

When your child sees you rooted in God’s love, they’ll know they can be too.

Family Talk:

  • Is there anything that feels scary or too big right now?
  • How does it help to know God’s love is bigger than it all?

Prayer:
Father, thank You that nothing today or tomorrow can pull us from Your love. Spirit, help us rest in that truth as a family. Amen.

👩‍👧 Family Devotional — Day 72

Victory That Speaks Louder Than Fear

“But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.” — Romans 8:37 (NASB 1995)

Our homes can become places of victory—even in difficulty. Not because of perfect circumstances, but because we live under the love of Christ that overwhelms every trial.

The Holy Spirit shapes us to respond with courage, faith, and peace. We don’t just endure—we overcome.

Teach your children that life with Jesus isn’t about never struggling—it’s about never being conquered.

Family Talk:

  • What does it mean to be “more than a conqueror”?
  • How can we show victory in Jesus in our daily life?

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, thank You for the victory we have in Christ. Let our family walk in courage, not fear. Amen.

👩‍👧 Family Devotional — Day 71

Raising Hearts Ready to Endure

“Just as it is written: ‘For Your sake we are killed all day long; We were regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.’” Romans 8:36 (NASB 1995)

We want our children to thrive—but also to stand. The path of faith will bring resistance, and we must prepare them to hold fast when the world presses hard.

The Holy Spirit doesn’t promise ease. He promises endurance. Our role is to teach them how to suffer with purpose—like sheep who follow their Shepherd, even through shadows.

Family Talk:

  • Why do you think the Bible talks about suffering for God?
  • How can we help each other stay strong in our faith?

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, help us raise children who love Jesus more than ease. Strengthen our home to stand firm in You. Amen.
