Raising Children With an Unshakable Assurance

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers…” — Romans 8:38 (NASB 1995)

Life brings change. New schools. Challenges. Loss. But one thing must stay constant in our children’s hearts: God’s love never moves.

The Spirit works in us as mothers to model and teach this—through how we comfort, how we pray, how we respond in uncertainty.

When your child sees you rooted in God’s love, they’ll know they can be too.

Family Talk:

  • Is there anything that feels scary or too big right now?
  • How does it help to know God’s love is bigger than it all?

Prayer:
 Father, thank You that nothing today or tomorrow can pull us from Your love. Spirit, help us rest in that truth as a family. Amen.

Through Him, you are not scraping by—you are more than a conqueror. That doesn’t mean no battles—it means no battle can win against His love for you.

The Spirit gives you the power to stand, resist, and grow—even when things feel overwhelming.

Challenge:
 What’s one area in your life that feels defeating? Invite the Spirit into it. Speak His victory over it.

Prayer:
 Spirit, I don’t want to live like I’ve lost. Make me bold in Your strength. Remind me I’m more than a conqueror. Amen.

You are not barely holding on—you are more than a conqueror. Not because of your strength, but because of Christ’s love and the Spirit within you.

The battle may be fierce, but the victory has already been declared. The Holy Spirit enables you to live from that victory, even when you feel weak.

In every trial, you are not defined by the struggle—you are defined by the One who already overcame.

Reflection:
 Am I living like a conqueror or like someone defeated?

Prayer:
 Holy Spirit, remind me that I am more than a conqueror through Jesus. Help me walk in victory today. Amen.

We want our children to thrive—but also to stand. The path of faith will bring resistance, and we must prepare them to hold fast when the world presses hard.

The Holy Spirit doesn’t promise ease. He promises endurance. Our role is to teach them how to suffer with purpose—like sheep who follow their Shepherd, even through shadows.

Family Talk:

  • Why do you think the Bible talks about suffering for God?
  • How can we help each other stay strong in our faith?

Prayer:
 Holy Spirit, help us raise children who love Jesus more than ease. Strengthen our home to stand firm in You. Amen.

You’re not alone. You’re part of a generation being shaped by fire.

Challenge:
 Think of one way following Jesus has been costly for you. Thank God for the strength He’s given—and ask for more.

Prayer:
 Spirit, help me not run from hardship. Make me faithful, even when it costs something. Amen.

But even when following Jesus is hard, you don’t have to be afraid. The Holy Spirit helps you be brave!

Try This:
 Draw a sheep with a heart on it and write: “I belong to Jesus.”

Prayer:
 Jesus, thank You for loving me. Help me be brave when others don’t understand. Amen.

A Flicker of Light in a World of Control

For centuries, the Word of God had been kept from the people. The Church governed with fear, tradition, and political power.
But God was not silent.

He raised up voices across Europe—men who dared to challenge religious tyranny and call the Church back to Scripture, faith, and freedom in Christ.

These weren’t perfect men. But they ignited a return to the Word that would shake nations.

The Early Reformers and Pre-Reformers

John Wycliffe (c. 1320s–1384)

  • Translated the Bible into English
  • Declared Scripture as the final authority
  • Rejected transubstantiation and papal supremacy
  • Called the Pope the “antichrist”

Jan Hus (c. 1372–1415)

  • Preached against indulgences and corrupt clergy
  • Influenced by Wycliffe’s writings
  • Burned at the stake for refusing to recant

Martin Luther (1483–1546)

  • Nailed the 95 Theses to the church door in 1517
  • Denounced the sale of indulgences
  • Declared salvation is by grace through faith, not works
  • Translated the Bible into German for the people

William Tyndale (c. 1494–1536)

  • Translated the New Testament into English
  • Declared that even a plowboy should know the Word
  • Hunted, betrayed, and burned alive for giving the people Scripture

The Price of Truth

These reformers didn’t seek rebellion—they sought restoration.
They paid dearly:

  • Excommunication
  • Torture
  • Martyrdom
  • Misrepresentation

But they feared God more than man.

What Did the Reformation Restore?

  1. Sola Scriptura — Scripture alone is our authority
  2. Sola Fide — Justification by faith alone
  3. Sola Gratia — Salvation by grace alone
  4. Solus Christus — Christ alone is mediator
  5. Soli Deo Gloria — All glory to God alone

These weren’t slogans—they were cries of the heart.

Application for Today

Ask yourself:

  • Have I taken the Bible for granted?
  • Do I trust tradition—or test all things by the Word?
  • Would I still stand if it cost me everything?

Revelation 3:2–3

“Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain… Remember what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent.”

Faith That Endures When It Costs Everything

Faithfulness has never been easy. For many—then and now—walking with Christ means risk, rejection, and even death. But even in suffering, the Spirit remains.

He is the presence of God in the fire. He strengthens what feels weak. He gives courage when the cost is great.

Your faith may be quiet, hidden, or tested—but it is not forgotten. You are part of a long line of those who endure for the sake of His name.

Reflection:
 Am I prepared to remain faithful, even when it costs me something?

Prayer:
 Holy Spirit, strengthen my heart to endure. Help me love Jesus more than comfort. Amen.
