🧒 Children’s Devotional — Day 50

“The Holy Spirit Helps Us Know What’s True”

📖 “When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth.”
—John 16:13a (NKJV)

Have you ever been confused about something?
Maybe someone told you one thing, but someone else said the opposite.
It can be hard to know what’s really true.

But Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit to help with that!

The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of Truth.
He helps us understand God’s Word and tells our hearts what is right.

If something doesn’t sound like what Jesus would say or do—
The Holy Spirit helps us spot it.

He’s like a flashlight in the dark, showing us the right way to go!

Think About It:

  • What’s something true that the Holy Spirit has helped you learn about God?
  • How can you listen more carefully to Him this week?

Prayer:
Dear Holy Spirit, thank You for helping me know what’s true. Teach me to listen to You when I read the Bible and when I pray. I want to follow Jesus every day. Amen.

“God Helps Us Do What’s Right”

📖 “And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.”
—John 16:8 (NKJV)

Have you ever done something wrong, and your heart felt sad afterward?
That’s what the Holy Spirit does. He helps us know when something isn’t right—so we can turn to Jesus.

He shows us what sin is, but He also shows us what is good and right.
He helps us understand the difference between what pleases God and what doesn’t.

And when we mess up, He doesn’t run away.
He stays close, whispering, “Come back to Jesus—He will forgive you!”

Think About It:

  • Can you think of a time the Holy Spirit helped you do the right thing?
  • What do you do when you feel sad about a wrong choice?

Prayer:
Dear Holy Spirit, thank You for helping me know what’s right and wrong. Please help me choose what makes God happy. And thank You, Jesus, for forgiving me when I mess up. Amen.

“The Holy Spirit Talks About Jesus”

📖 “He will glorify Me…”
—John 16:14a (NKJV)

Have you ever had a friend who loved to tell others how great someone was?
Maybe they said, “My mom makes the best cookies!” or “My teacher is really nice!”

The Holy Spirit does that too—but He talks about Jesus!

Jesus said the Holy Spirit would glorify Him.
That means He helps people know how wonderful Jesus is!

When you read your Bible, when you sing to God, when you pray or obey—the Holy Spirit helps you love Jesus more.
He wants everyone to see how kind, strong, and loving Jesus is.

And the more you love Jesus, the more you’ll want to live like Him.

Think About It:

  • Can you think of something amazing about Jesus that you love?
  • How can you talk about Jesus today?

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, thank You for helping me see how great Jesus is. I want to love Him more and tell others about Him, too. Amen.

📖 “…and He will tell you things to come.”
—John 16:13b (NKJV)

Have you ever packed for a trip?
You make sure you have your shoes, your snacks, your favorite stuffed animal—everything you might need!

The Holy Spirit helps us get ready too.
But not just for trips—for life!

He helps us know when something hard is coming, so we can pray and trust God.
He also helps us get ready to tell others about Jesus or to be kind even when it’s not easy.

The Holy Spirit never leaves us guessing.
He helps our hearts stay ready by reminding us of God’s truth.

Think About It:

  • When was a time you felt God helped you know what to do?
  • Can you think of a time you prayed before something hard?

That’s what the Holy Spirit does with Jesus.

He shows us how amazing Jesus is!
He helps us see His love, kindness, power, and everything He did for us.

📖 “…and He will tell you things to come.”
—John 16:13b (NKJV)

Have you ever been on a hike or a long walk and needed someone to lead the way?
The Holy Spirit is like that. He knows what’s ahead—and He helps guide us through life.

Jesus said the Holy Spirit would tell us things to come.
That means He helps us understand what the Bible says about the future.
He reminds us that Jesus is coming back one day and that we should be ready.

The Holy Spirit also helps us know how to make good choices—even when the world feels confusing.
He helps us listen to God’s voice, love others, and keep following Jesus no matter what.

You don’t have to be afraid of what’s ahead—because the Holy Spirit is with you, leading the way!

“The Holy Spirit Points to Jesus”

📖 “He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.”
—John 16:14 (NKJV)

Have you ever used a flashlight to help someone see?
The Holy Spirit is kind of like that—He shines the light so we can see Jesus more clearly.

The Bible says the Holy Spirit “glorifies” Jesus.
That means He helps us understand who Jesus really is—how loving, kind, strong, and perfect He is.

The Holy Spirit reminds us of everything Jesus said.
He helps us remember Jesus died for us and that He’s alive again!
And He teaches us how to love and follow Him every day.

So, when you feel your heart wanting to know Jesus more,
when you read the Bible and something clicks,
when you feel sorry for sin and want to do what’s right—
That’s the Holy Spirit pointing you to Jesus.

Think About It:

  • What is something you love about Jesus?
  • Can you thank the Holy Spirit for helping you know Him?

—John 16:13a (NKJV)

Have you ever been on a hike or in a new place and needed someone to show you where to go?
A guide helps you get where you’re supposed to be safely.

The Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit is our Guide.
That means He helps us know the truth,
so we don’t get tricked or confused.

He reminds us of what Jesus said.
He helps us understand what we read in the Bible.
And He leads our hearts to choose what’s right—even when it’s hard.

We don’t have to guess our way through life.

“The Helper Shows Us What’s Right”

📖 “When He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.”
—John 16:8 (NKJV)

Have you ever had that little feeling inside that something was wrong, even if no one told you?

That’s one way the Holy Spirit helps us.
Jesus said He would come to help us know what’s right and wrong—
so we can grow to be more like Him.

The Holy Spirit shows us:

  • What sin is, so we can turn away from it,
  • What right things to do, so we can follow Jesus better,
  • And that one day, Jesus will come back and make everything right.

Even when no one sees what we do, God does.
And He doesn’t leave us to figure it all out alone—
He gave us the Helper to guide our hearts.

Think About It:

  • Have you ever felt the Holy Spirit helping you say no to something wrong?
  • What is one right thing He’s helped you do recently?

Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to help me know what’s right. Please help me listen to You, even when it’s hard. I want to follow Jesus every day. Amen.

🧒 Children’s Devotional — Day 41

“Why Jesus Left”

📖 “It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you.”
—John 16:7 (NKJV)

Have you ever had a friend move away?
It can feel really sad. You might wonder, “Why did they have to go?”

That’s how Jesus’ disciples felt when He told them He was leaving.
But Jesus said something surprising: “It’s better for you if I go.”

How could that be true?

Jesus promised to send the Helper—the Holy Spirit.
He would come to live inside those who believe in Jesus.

That means we don’t have to go to a special place to be near God.
He is with us all the time, in every place.

Even though the disciples were sad, they soon found out that Jesus was right.
And we can be glad today that He went—because His Spirit came!

Think About It:

  • Do you know that God’s Spirit lives in you when you believe in Jesus?
  • How does it feel to know He is always with you?

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to help me and live with me forever. I’m never alone because You are always near. Amen.
