Living and Walking by the Spirit

“If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.”Galatians 5:25 (NASB 1995)

It’s one thing to have the Spirit—it’s another to walk by Him. If we’ve received new life through Him, then our daily lives should reflect that life.

Walking by the Spirit means letting Him lead—not occasionally, but moment by moment. It means letting Him direct your tone, your time, your thoughts, and your choices.

The Spirit doesn’t just change where you’re going—He changes how you get there.

Reflection:
Am I walking in step with the Spirit—or just acknowledging Him on Sunday?

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, I live because of You. Now help me walk with You—closely, daily, and joyfully. Amen.

Let’s Walk With the Holy Spirit!

“If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.”Galatians 5:25 (NASB 1995)

If the Holy Spirit gave us life, He also wants to help us live it every day!

That means walking with Him—like walking with a friend who shows you the way to go and how to treat others kindly and truthfully.

Try This:
Take a quiet walk today and ask the Holy Spirit to help you follow Him this week.

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, I want to walk with You. Help me listen to You and do what makes Jesus happy. Amen.

Daily Steps, Not Just Big Moments

“If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.”Galatians 5:25 (NASB 1995)

It’s easy to want a “spiritual high”—that retreat, that conference, that powerful moment. But what about the Monday mornings? The ordinary school days? The messy friendships?

The Spirit isn’t just in the big moments. He’s in the steps. The slow, intentional walk of everyday obedience.

If you live by the Spirit, walk by Him—when no one’s watching.

Challenge:
Start your day tomorrow by saying: “Holy Spirit, I want to walk with You today.” Then listen.

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, help me follow You in the small things. I don’t just want moments—I want a lifestyle of walking with You. Amen.

Let the Spirit Lead Our Daily Steps

“If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.”Galatians 5:25 (NASB 1995)

As mothers, we often move from one task to another without pause—but what if each step, each decision, each interaction was Spirit-led?

Walking by the Spirit means tuning in—not just for the “big” parenting moments—but for every correction, every encouragement, every prayer.

Let’s teach our children that living by the Spirit isn’t a one-time decision—it’s a daily walk.

Family Talk:

  • What does “walking by the Spirit” look like in our home?
  • How can we remind each other to follow Him today?

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, we belong to You. Lead our family in every step. Help us walk by Your voice, not our feelings. Amen.

Crucified Passions, Risen Life

“Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” — Galatians 5:24 (NASB 1995)

To belong to Jesus is to surrender your rights to the flesh. Not just the obvious sins—but the cravings, ambitions, and desires that once ruled your life.

This crucifixion is not a one-time event—it’s a daily decision. The Holy Spirit enables you to put the flesh to death so that Christ may live through you.

If you’ve been trying to tame the flesh, stop. It doesn’t need to be managed. It needs to be nailed to the cross.

Reflection:
Have I crucified my desires, or just kept them hidden?

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, help me put to death anything that competes with Christ. I want to belong fully to Him. Amen.

Goodbye to Bad Wants

“Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” — Galatians 5:24 (NASB 1995)

Sometimes we want things that aren’t good for us—like being mean, selfish, or wanting more and more stuff.

But when we belong to Jesus, we say “goodbye” to those bad wants! The Holy Spirit helps us want good things instead.

Try This:
Make a “Goodbye List” of things you want to stop doing. Ask the Holy Spirit for help!

Prayer:
Jesus, I want to belong to You. Help me say goodbye to wrong things and choose what’s right. Amen.

Kill the Flesh—Don’t Negotiate With It

“Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” — Galatians 5:24 (NASB 1995)

You can’t belong to Jesus and keep pet sins alive. The cross calls for execution, not compromise.

If you’ve been trying to balance Christ and the flesh, today’s verse calls you to decide. Believers don’t tame the flesh—they crucify it.

The Holy Spirit gives the power to let it die and the courage to walk away.

Challenge:
What’s something you’ve been protecting that should’ve been nailed to the cross? Don’t excuse it—crucify it.

Prayer:
Spirit of God, I choose Christ. Kill the passions in me that lead away from Him. Teach me how to truly live. Amen.

Fruit That Flourishes in Surrender

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…” — Galatians 5:22–23 (NASB 1995)

The fruit of the Spirit isn’t something you can manufacture. It’s not a checklist—it’s a result. It grows as you stay rooted in Christ and yielded to the Spirit.

Love that chooses the good of others. Joy that isn’t circumstantial. Peace that surpasses understanding. This is the life the Spirit produces in a surrendered heart.

Don’t try harder. Grow deeper.

Reflection:
Am I striving to look spiritual—or surrendering to truly be changed?

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, grow Your fruit in my life. I give You space to change what I cannot. Let Your beauty be seen in me. Amen.

God Grows Good Fruit in Me!

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…” — Galatians 5:22–23 (NASB 1995)

Just like fruit grows on a tree, the Holy Spirit grows good things in your heart—like love, joy, peace, and kindness!

When you listen to Him and stay close to Jesus, those good things show up more and more!

Try This:
Draw a big tree and label each fruit with one of the Spirit’s gifts!

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, help me grow Your fruit—kindness, joy, love, and more! Thank You for living in me. Amen.

Don’t Fake the Fruit—Let It Grow

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…” — Galatians 5:22–23 (NASB 1995)

Real love. Real peace. Real self-control. These aren’t moods or moments—they’re evidence.

If the Spirit is living in you, His fruit will show. But don’t try to force it. You can’t duct-tape joy onto a branch. You have to abide in Christ and yield to the Spirit daily.

He doesn’t ask you to fake growth. He asks you to remain rooted.

Challenge:
Pick one fruit you struggle with. Ask the Spirit to grow it in you—not for people’s approval, but for God’s glory.

Prayer:
Spirit of God, don’t let me fake holiness. Grow in me what only You can. Make me fruitful in You. Amen.
