Following Jesus Shapes My Choices
📖 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
—John 14:15 (NKJV)
Following Jesus is not just about what you believe; it is about how you live. Obedience is not a way to earn God’s love—it is a response to it. Jesus connects love and obedience because love changes the direction of your choices.
There are moments when obeying Jesus feels natural, and moments when it feels costly. You may feel pressure from friends, culture, or your own emotions to choose a different path. In those moments, obedience becomes an act of trust. You are choosing to believe that Jesus knows what is best for you, even when it is difficult.
Jesus does not leave you to obey on your own. He gives you the Holy Spirit to guide your conscience, strengthen your resolve, and remind you of truth when temptation arises. Obedience becomes less about rule-following and more about staying close to Christ and reflecting His character.
Knowing Christ means learning to align your decisions with His heart. Over time, obedience reshapes your desires, sharpens your discernment, and builds spiritual strength. Each choice to follow Jesus deepens your relationship with Him and forms a life that reflects His truth and love.
Prayer:
Jesus, help me follow You in the choices I make each day. When obedience feels hard, strengthen my trust in You. Shape my desires, guide my decisions, and help my life reflect my love for You. Amen.
