🏡 Family Devotional — Day 104

Following Jesus Together in Obedience

📖 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
—John 14:15 (NKJV)

Obedience in a family is not about strict rule-keeping or control; it is about learning to follow Jesus together. When a family chooses to obey Christ, they are choosing to trust His wisdom and love as the foundation for their home.

Following Jesus together means allowing His teachings to shape how family members speak to one another, resolve conflict, make decisions, and show love. Obedience becomes a shared response to Christ’s love rather than a list of expectations. Parents model trust in Jesus through their choi8ces, and children learn obedience by watching faith lived out consistently.

There are times when obedience as a family is simple and times when it requires humility, patience, and sacrifice. In those moments, the Holy Spirit helps each family member respond with grace rather than frustration. Obedience rooted in love strengthens unity and builds a home where Christ’s presence is evident.

As families continue to walk in obedience together, trust grows—both in one another and in Christ. Over time, obedience becomes part of the rhythm of family life, shaping hearts that desire to honor Jesus and reflect His love in daily living.

Prayer:
Jesus, help our family follow You together. Teach us to obey You from love and trust, not fear. Guide our decisions, our words, and our actions so that our home reflects Your truth and grace each day. Amen.
