👧👦 Teen Devotional — Day 70

“The Holy Spirit Guides Me in Choosing the Right Friends”

📖 “Do not be deceived: ‘Evil company corrupts good habits.’”
—1 Corinthians 15:33 (NKJV)

Friendships shape your life more than you often realize. They influence your choices, your habits, your confidence, your priorities, and even your walk with God.

Not every friend draws you closer to Jesus—some distract you, some pressure you,
some drain you, and some tempt you away from what you know is right. That’s why you need the Holy Spirit’s guidance in choosing and keeping the right friends.

He helps you recognize relationships that pull you toward sin.
He strengthens you to walk away from friendships that are harmful.
He brings godly friends into your life at the right time.
He gives you discernment when someone’s influence isn’t good.
He also helps you become the kind of friend who points others toward Jesus.

Good friendships don’t happen by accident. They grow through prayer, discernment, and the Holy Spirit’s wisdom.

A true friend encourages your faith, respects your boundaries, challenges you when needed, and walks with you in truth—not just comfort.

The Holy Spirit will guide you, protect your heart, and help you surround yourself with people who build you up rather than tear you down.

Talk About It:

  • Has the Holy Spirit ever warned you about a friendship that wasn’t good for you?
  • What qualities do you believe a godly friend should have?

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, give me wisdom in choosing friends. Protect my heart, guide my decisions,
and surround me with people who help me grow in Christ. Make me a friend who reflects Your love, honesty, and strength. Amen.
