Teaching Our Children to Name the Battle
“Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior, idolatry, witchcraft, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these…” — Galatians 5:19–21 (NASB 1995)
We can’t help our children fight what we won’t name. The works of the flesh are real, and our kids are not immune.
But neither are they helpless.
Teach them to recognize sin not with shame, but with sober clarity and Spirit-led hope. The Holy Spirit is not just our Helper—He’s our Defender in this war.

- How does the Spirit help us say no to those things?
Prayer:
Spirit of holiness, help our family be honest about sin and bold in pursuing what is good. Lead us in purity and love. Amen.
