🌿 Kingdom Living Devotional — Day 75

“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name… and perform many miracles?'”

Matthew 7:22 NASB1995

⚠️ Impressive… but Unknown?

This verse is jarring. Jesus reveals that people can do many spiritual things—prophesy, cast out demons, perform miracles—and still not know Him.

The standard isn’t spiritual performance but spiritual intimacy. Jesus is not after what we do for Him, but whether we truly belong to Him.

🕊 Ante-Nicene Insight:

The early Church was deeply discerning about spiritual gifts. They expected the fruit of the Spirit to accompany all works—humility, purity, and love—not just signs and wonders.

💭 Reflect:

  • Do I find more identity in my spiritual “gifts” or in being known by Jesus?
  • Is there a hidden area of my life that contradicts my public actions?

✨ Prayer:

Lord, may I never mistake ministry for relationship. Search my heart and draw me deeper into communion with You. Amen.
